MISSION STATEMENT
The Lakes Region Deanery Christian Life Center assists the eleven parishes in the deanery by providing faith-filled programs, catechetical education, and spiritual enrichment for adults. The Center is committed to enabling Christians to undertake the mission of the Church in their own lives: to be like Jesus, a sign and herald of the Reign of God in our midst. All of our programs are informally structured and seek to build a sense of community and hospitality among participants.

"WE THEE WED"
SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR C
"WE THEE WED"
This week we consider the generous love of God symbolized in abundant wine and how Jesus and Mary want to be part of our lives in an intimate, joyful way.
Weddings are a wonderful time to celebrate! Everyone is all dressed up; the ceremony and music in church are wonderful. The reception is a great time to meet old friends and to make new ones, "to eat, drink and be merry." And in the center of it all, of course, is the love of the bride and groom-- the real reason to celebrate.
The point of wedding witnesses, the assembly of the community of faith is this: the couple is never meant to do it alone. We are all in it together in the eyes of Christ. It is really a matter of us all saying, " We thee wed..."
It's never too late; married or unmarried, we can always invite Jesus and Mary into our lives. They always bring wine, the wine of God's love to rejoice our hearts. Christ's "new wine" is always abundant. Drink all you can. There will always be plenty left to share with others. Christ has come, after all, that we may have life and have it more abundantly.
